The perfect midwestern brunch!
6 Slices white bread or english muffin bread, crusts removed
3 T butter
1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
5 eggs, beaten
2 cups half & half or whole milk
1 lb. sausage
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
Cook sausage in skillet and drain on paper towels. Melt butter and place in 9 x 13 in pan. Tear or cube bread into small pieces. Layer sausage on top of the bread and top with shredded cheese. Combine the eggs, half & half, and seasonings in a bowl. Beat together nd pour over the rest of the ingredients in the pan. Cover and chill overnight. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
